A study showing that broadcasting exclusivity rules lead to higher ratings and more advertising revenue is being highlighted by NAB in response to the Federal Communications Commission's look into retransmission-consent regulations. "Elimination or weakening of the Commission's exclusivity rules is likely to have an economically significant impact on local stations and their incentives to invest" in local programming, according to the study from Compass Lexecon.
