IBM has been chosen by California to partner on a five-year, $400 million cloud network that will power as much as 80% of the state's IT operations. CalCloud will offer hosting to all state and local government agencies. "CalCloud is an important step towards providing faster and more cost-effective IT services to California state departments and ultimately to the citizens of California," said Marybel Batjer of the state's Government Operations Agency.
