Central Michigan University has hired more academic advisers to help its students graduate on time. The hires cut the student-to-adviser ratio in half, from 1,200-to-1 to 600-to-1. "Advising is central to helping students progress toward their career goals and includes not only course selection, but also helping students sort out all the possible careers open to students graduating in a specific major," CMU Provost Michael Gealt said.
