The John P. Hussman Institute for Human Genomics at the University of Miami has been awarded a $12.6 million grant to study genetic factors related to Alzheimer's disease. The grant, from the National Institute on Aging, will fund analysis of thousands of genetic samples, from Alzheimer's patients and those without the disease, to look for genes that could increase or decrease the chances of developing the disease.
