The Swedish Competition Authority has accused Nasdaq OMX Group's Stockholm exchange of blocking a trading platform that wanted access to a data centre. The regulator is seeking 31 million kronor in penalties and administrative fines. Nasdaq is cooperating, a spokeswoman says.

U.K.-based BSkyB said it will pay about $8.3 billion for 21st Century Fox pay-TV businesses in Germany and Italy, creating a European media company that will initially have 20 million subscribers. The deal gives BSkyB an opportunity to increase revenue on the European continent while growth in its home market is slowing.
Nasdaq OMX Group CEO Robert Greifeld said the company will create a dark pool for electronic U.S. Treasurys to increase revenue by attracting more customers and trading. The pool will be offered on the eSpeed platform.
