Parents who used a teaspoon or a tablespoon to measure doses of child medication had a twofold increased risk of making a dosing error compared with those who measured the medication in milliliters, a study in the journal Pediatrics showed. Among the 287 parents included in the study, 39% made an error in measuring out the dose, while 41% did not know the correct prescribed dose.
