A $43 million NIH initiative aims to learn more about undiagnosed, unrecognized and misunderstood diseases. The NIH will widen its Undiagnosed Disease Network, which uses genomic analysis and other tests to diagnose patients with mysterious and intractable conditions. The expanded program will enlist physician/scientists at Baylor College of Medicine, Boston Children's Hospital, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Duke University, Massachusetts General Hospital, Stanford University, the University of California at Los Angeles and Vanderbilt University.
