The New York Department Financial Services is accepting public comment for its proposed "BitLicense" regulatory framework for virtual currency bitcoin. The proposal, which covers issues including security, audit demands and complaint resolution, will be published in the state register Wednesday. The comment period is for 45 days. If the proposal goes into effect, New York will become the first state to directly regulate bitcoin.
