The Portland School Board in Oregon unanimously passed a resolution Tuesday asking the state to delay the use of tests aligned with Common Core State Standards in teacher and school evaluations. Results from last year's pilot of Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium tests at 24 schools won't be available until December, which does not leave enough time to act on the results before statewide testing in spring 2015, the board argued.
