A Democratic bill aimed at reversing the Supreme Court's Hobby Lobby ruling failed to survive a Republican Senate filibuster on Wednesday, despite gaining the support of three GOP lawmakers. The bill would have excluded health care benefits from a 1993 religious-freedom law used to justify the Supreme Court's decision that some for-profit businesses could refuse to cover contraception costs for their workers.
