A growing number of families are enrolling their children in summer programs, according to a recent survey that found that, over a five-year span, the percentage enrolled rose from 25% to more than 33%. The survey, conducted on behalf of the Afterschool Alliance, is a good sign, according to studies that show students not enrolled in summer programs can lose a month's worth of knowledge over the break.
