Wearables such as the Fitbit and smart watch remain niche-market devices because they are not yet as indispensable in people's lives as mobile phones have become, according to participants at a wearable-focused gathering in San Francisco. Right now, wearables “are a solution looking for a problem, and that scenario rarely results in success,” writes mobile tech commentator James Kendrick.
