Municipal leaders in Nogales, Ariz., have asked the Federal Communications Commission and the state Attorney General's Office to investigate KOFH-FM, whose commentary and coverage about local politics allegedly became negative after officials stopped paying the station for interviews. Station General Manager Oscar Felix Sr. said the change in interview payments had nothing to do with any shifts in news coverage or commentary. Arizona Broadcasters Association chief Art Brooks called any potential payment-for-interview trade-off "ridiculous."
