U.S. banks say they are not getting the information they need from their vendors to comply with the Federal Reserve's requirement to validate third-party risk models ahead of 2015 stress tests. "The Fed wants those models to be subject to tighter controls -- and they are correct -- but vendors don't want to give us the information we need because it is commercially sensitive," said a consultant working with a major bank.
