Researchers looked at the records of 122,000 U.S. veterans with atrial fibrillation and found that those who took digoxin had a more than 20% greater risk of dying than those who used other drugs to treat their heart condition. The study, published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, failed to establish a causal link between digoxin and death.
