A U.K. study involving 5 million people found that obese or overweight individuals had a higher risk of developing 10 common cancers. The findings, published in The Lancet, showed that the odds of developing leukemia and cancers of the uterus, gallbladder, kidney, cervix and thyroid rose linearly along with weight. Higher BMI was associated with a greater risk of liver, colon, ovarian and breast cancer.
