Wikipedia has become the latest casualty of a European Court ruling that requires search engines to remove links to potentially embarrassing information at the request of individuals who may be affected by it. Google says it has received a request to remove a link attached to an unidentified Wikipedia article and is in the process of scrubbing it from its European search results, which Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales said is "completely insane." Google notes that as of July it has received 91,000 takedown requests, more than a third of them from France and Germany.
