NexGene Girls is among the organizations pairing young girls with women in biotech to bring them into the field, where Women In Bio takes over, aiming to help women working in biology-related fields attain leadership positions. Chris Meda, CEO of consulting firm RxDxLink and chairwoman of WIB's San Francisco chapter, said she had a hard time finding mentors when she entered the field, so she went looking for leadership opportunities.
