A legal clinic program that allows law students to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has grown recently to involve 45 law schools. The program was launched in 2008, and it has proved popular as demand for intellectual property lawyers has stayed strong in recent years. "I'm hearing from the law schools that they will have three or four applications for every seat they have in the clinic," said Will Covey, a deputy counsel for the agency.
