T-Mobile US has responded to rival Sprint's aggressive pricing by quadrupling the amount of data under its "Simple Starter" plan for an additional $5 a month, which means individual subscribers get 2 gigabytes of data for $45 a month. AT&T's prepaid Cricket Wireless brand also waded into the fray by offering a $100 credit to consumers to switch from T-Mobile or sister carrier MetroPCS.
