Consumers have been slow to adopt Ultra HD TV because of a lack of content, and programmers are wary of investing in the new format after the lukewarm reaction to 3D TV, analysts say. However, Ultra HD sales are expected to jump by as much as 500% next year as technology becomes available for Blu-ray conversion and video services such as Netflix adopt the technology.
