Certified wine specialist Sue Navratil has been hired to help shoppers at a Hy-Vee store in Ankeny, Iowa. Report examines online-shopping trends
A shopper-behavior study by The Integer Group and M/A/R/C Research found a 12% increase in online health and beauty purchases by 50- to 64-year-olds since January 2012. However, overall online shopping did not increase from 2011 to 2012. Among 18- to 24-year-olds, online purchases have decreased in all categories except books, tickets and music. Shoppers in Ithaca, N.Y., are welcoming Neighborhood Pride Grocery Store, which fills a spot that has housed a grocer since the 1970s but has been vacant since 2010. Price Chopper Supermarkets has begun posting video on Vine, a Twitter-owned application that puts six-second videos on social media. Wegmans Food Markets says its store brand of all-purpose bleached flour is being recalled because some packages might contain polyurethane balls that are blue and about half of the diameter of a dime.
