High-fat diet tied to more abdominal fat in teens
Teens who consumed between 33.6% and 41.4% of total calories from fat had 2% to 7% more belly fat than their peers who ate the least amount of fat, according to a Spanish study in the journal Clinical Nutrition. Calorie counseling sessions may cut pregnancy weight gain in obese women
Data published in Obesity revealed obese pregnant women who received individualized calorie goal counseling and weekly group discussions had a mean weight gain of 11 pounds at 34 weeks' gestation, compared with 18.5 pounds in the control group. HHS issues $35M in grants to support PCMHs
HHS awarded $35 million in grants split among 147 health centers in 44 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico to support patient-centered medical homes.
