- Arrow, Atmel enter distribution agreement
Arrow Asia Pac Ltd., a business unit of components distributor Arrow Electronics Inc., has entered into a distribution agreement with Atmel Corp., a semiconductor designer and manufacturer. Arrow Asia Pac will distribute Atmel's advanced logic, mixed-signal, memory and radio frequency components throughout mainland China and Hong Kong under the terms of the deal. Chemical wholesaler Harris & Ford recently expanded its company focus to included manufacturing, as it attempts to combat rising shipping costs. - Report shows telecommuting saves energy, curbs pollution
Telecommuting via consumer electronics saves the equivalent of 9 billion to 14 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity in the U.S. per year, according to a new report from the Consumer Electronics Association. The report also says that U.S. telecommuters save 840 million gallons of gasoline per year, cutting their carbon dioxide emissions by nearly 14 million tons. TWICE
