- Building Materials Holding posts Q3 loss
Building Materials Holding Corp. posted a net loss of $45.2 million for the third quarter. Sales for the building materials distributor dropped 39% for the quarter versus the year-ago period, primarily due to volatile capital markets and the housing industry downturn, CEO Robert Mellor said. - Nash Finch posts Q3 net earnings of $8.6M
Nash Finch Co. posted net earnings of $8.6 million for the third quarter, compared to $15.4 million for the year-ago period. The company booked several charges for a total of $4.6 million in the third quarter, mainly from an increase in non-cash LIFO charges. - Ingram Micro mobile sales increase in U.K.
Ingram Micro's mobile customer base has increased by more than 300% in the past six months, boosted by mobile broadband and BlackBerrys. The IT distributor, based in the U.K., reported a third-quarter net profit of $46.4 million. "Uptake of [mobile] business is really good. Our account base has gone from strength-to-strength in the last six months. It is growing fast," said Ingram Micro commercial director Bhavesh Patel. Mobile (U.K.)
