- Thermo Fisher acquires U.K.-based Raymond A. Lamb
Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. has acquired Raymond A. Lamb Ltd., which manufactures products for pathology labs, for an undisclosed sum. Raymond posted revenue of about $9 million in 2007, Thermo Fisher said. Thermo Fisher will integrate the company into its Analytical Technologies Segment. Mass High Tech (Boston)

Ben E. Keith, a food distributor based in Fort Worth, Texas, has acquired Winn Meat Co. for an undisclosed sum. Dallas-based Winn Meat sells meat products and services to the food service industry. Keith's for many years now, helping us to make it more economically efficient for our customers to receive great protein products," said Todd Winn, co-owner of Winn Meat. - Caribbean islands face service cuts as high season nears
The International Air Transport Association predicts that popular Caribbean destinations such as the Bahamas and Puerto Rico will see fewer flights this winter compared with last year, as both U.S. legacy carriers and local airlines cut back on service. Discount carriers such as JetBlue Airways and Spirit Airlines could take up some of the slack, but less overall service could mean higher prices throughout the region.
