- Airlines to offer dramatically reduced Thanksgiving schedules
Holiday fliers will find about 2.6 million fewer seats available over the Thanksgiving holidays because of airline cost-cutting measures that have removed nearly 3,000 daily flights from the schedule. An analysis shows that hundreds of routes have lost at least 25% of their service compared with year-ago levels. On Thanksgiving Day alone, US Airways has cut its flights by 40% from last year, while Delta Air Lines will have 26% fewer flights and United Airlines' flights will be down 22%. USA TODAY
