- Ingram Micro Q3 profit drops 36% on weakened demand
Ingram Micro Inc. posted a profit of $46.4 million for its third quarter, a 36% drop from $72.4 million in the year-ago period. The technology-products distributor cited softening demand for the results. "Our proactive steps to walk away from unprofitable business and recover freight costs -- combined with softening demand in our three largest regions -- had a negative impact on worldwide sales growth," CEO Gregory Spierkel said in a statement. Electronic boarding passes could become the norm as early as next year after the TSA wraps up testing at select airports across the country.
