Brightpoint to merge with European wireless distributor
U.S.-based mobile phone and wireless products wholesaler-distributor Brightpoint has entered into a deal to purchase all outstanding shares of Dangaard Telecom A/S, another wireless W-D, based in Denmark. "This transaction will join together two of the most prominent players in the wireless handset distribution and logistics industry to create the true global leader," said Brightpoint's CEO and chairman. Home Depot reports tough Q4
Home Depot Inc.'s profit dropped 28% in its fiscal fourth quarter, ending Jan. 28. Home Depot's CEO credited the drop to a slowed housing market and "general economic conditions." HD Supply, the retailer's wholesale distribution arm that will possibly go up for sale, saw its total sales in the fourth quarter increase by 64.4% on account of recent acquisitions.
