Orangina Schweppes is sold to Suntory
Suntory Holdings, Japan's third-largest brewer, announced it has purchased Orangina Schweppes from the Blackstone Group and Lion Capital. Purchase of the European drink maker gives Suntory brands including Orangina, Oasis and Schweppes. Bloomberg (11/13)
Coca-Cola names Brazil a top market
Coca-Cola, which is opening its first Latin American eco-friendly facility in Brazil, named the country a top market and said it will invest $5.8 billion there through 2014. Godiva introduces regular and flavored coffees
Godiva Chocolatier has launched Godiva Coffee, available in three versions of a breakfast blend and truffle flavors French Vanilla, Chocolate Truffle, Hazelnut Creme and Caramel. Study: Food and drink will buoy this year's holidays
Sales of food and beverages are expected to grow 11.7% this holiday season, according to a study, even though consumers aren't expected to spend lavishly on gifts. Study: Dark chocolate appears to help reduce stress
A study using proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and mass spectrometry showed that consuming 20 grams of dark chocolate twice daily for two weeks reduced stress hormones and stress-related biochemical markers in highly stressed individuals.
