Lancet retracts study linking autism, MMR vaccine
A 1998 research paper that suggested a link between the measles, mumps and rubella vaccine and autism and bowel disease was formally retracted by The Lancet on Tuesday after the physician author was discredited. A British disciplinary panel said Dr. Andrew Wakefield was "irresponsible and dishonest" in the way he presented the research.
