Military demand offers stability for aerospace in downturn

Backlogs for aerospace and defense companies are near record levels, and the industry continues to experience strong demand from the Pentagon. Analysts note that while the economic downturn has brought a sharp drop in demand for commercial aircraft, the economy has had only a limited effect on demand for military equipment and weapons.
