Airgas sales, net income up in Q1

Airgas Inc. said its net income for the first quarter rose to $68.9 million, compared to $51.7 million in the same period last year. The distributor of industrial, medical and specialty gases reported quarterly sales of $1.1 billion, an increase of nearly $200 million from the year-ago period.
