Airlines get creative in finding fuel-saving measures
Travelers may be all too aware of airline adjustments to soaring fuel prices such as charging extra for baggage, but airlines are taking additional measures that many may not be aware of. JetBlue, for instance, is flying slower to save fuel, and an official with the company said that by slowing down just two minutes per flight, the airline can save $13.6 million annually. "We're not leaving a single idea untried or untested or a stone unturned," said James May, president and CEO of the Air Transport Association. CBS News (07/08)
