Estimated medical costs in retirement increase 7.5%
The average 65-year-old couple who retire this year will need about $215,000 to cover medical costs after they stop working, according to new estimates. The figure represents a 7.5% increase over last year's estimate, slightly higher than the average annual increase of 6.1% seen since Fidelity Investments started calculating retiree health care expenses five years ago.
