More U.S. retailers ramp up environmental initiatives
A growing number of U.S. retailers, including Safeway, Target Corp. and Trader Joe's, are stepping up their environmental initiatives to win back shoppers and gain a competitive edge. "Retailers are getting that they need to do two things -- show consumers ways that they are trying to reduce their carbon footprint, in their own operations.
