Matt Smith

Major General (Retired) Matt Smith has spent his career rallying teams in some of the highest-pressure environments imaginable and turning strategy into action. From a combat zone to the boardroom, he is known for moving people toward shared goals without relying on rank or authority. Today, after 32 years of service in the U.S. Army and Army National Guard, he now serves as Executive Director of Veteran Initiatives at Emory University. He leads the Goizueta Business School’s Master of Business for Veterans (MBV) program, a role that draws on both his military background and private sector experience to shape the next generation of veteran business leaders.
