Missing chance hallway chats in a virtual environment

Spontaneous hallway conversations and catch-ups with faculty members and students no longer seem insignificant now that the pandemic has kept them from happening, Michigan State Graduate School curriculum development director Stefanie Baier and Associate Dean Henry (Rique) Campa III write. Benefits such as bonding with others are harder to manage in a virtual world, they say, noting alternative options such as meeting online with others before virtual group meetings or virtual coffee check-ins with colleagues.
