Ex-Sears CEO on the economics of surviving the pandemic

Retail employees are among the first and hardest hit as the coronavirus outbreak forces store and mall closures, and the good news is that the federal stimulus bill will help them first, according to Arthur Martinez, former CEO of Sears and a former NRF chairman. Retail companies that have the ability are tapping into existing credit lines as a hedge against uncertainty about how long the current conditions will last, he said.
