Kroger has chosen Romulus, Mich., near Detroit, for the site of a new automated warehouse that will support its online operations in Michigan, as well as in Indiana and northern Ohio. The 135,000-square-foot location, smaller than the other proposed fulfillment centers the grocer announced in June, will be located next to a current Kroger distribution center, powered by technology from Ocado and should be running within about 18 months.
