Wegmans built its reputation on offering shopper perks from food bars to free samples, but the pandemic has prompted the 104-year-old grocer to shift its focus from pampering to protecting customers and employees. "We built our stores to be the most intimate supermarket shopping experience that we know of," said Bob Farr, senior vice president of store operations, adding, "We're finding new ways to be intimate."
