Walmart will overhaul leadership roles in its stores as it focuses on digital operations and workforce retention -- moves that will lead to raises for 165,000 employees. Starting wages for deli and bakery workers will rise by $4 an hour in October, others will receive a $1 an hour raise and all employees will have access to new cross-training opportunities that will allow them to grow in their careers, said Dacona Smith, Walmart's US chief operating officer.
