Aiming to help others hurt by the coronavirus outbreak, Publix has announced a plan to offer rent relief and other breaks to closed businesses that are tenants of the 282 shopping centers owned by the grocer. "As a company that started as a small business 90 years ago, Publix wants to help businesses renting from us survive the economic impact of these unexpected closures," said Publix spokeswoman Maria Brous.
