US retail sales grew 0.6% in August from the previous month, marking the fourth consecutive month of growth, according to the Commerce Department. Overall growth slowed from 1.2% in July as some consumers' additional unemployment benefits ended, but sales of clothing, furniture and electronics rose as families prepared for a back-to-school season that for many meant remote learning.
Report: Retail sales continued to rebound in Aug.
