Costco reported a jump of almost 14.1% in comparable-store sales in the quarter ended Aug. 31 and store traffic and demand have stayed strong during the pandemic, despite the retailer's decision to not offer curbside pickup or a click-and-collect program. The retailer, which has seen growth in nonfood items as well as groceries, will continue to pay employees an extra $2 per hour through at least October, Chief Financial Officer Richard Galanti said.
