Marks & Spencer has reportedly begun discussions about acquiring apparel brands Austin Reed, Jaeger and Jacques Vert from Philip Day, owner of Edinburgh Woollen Mill. M&S is the lead bidder for the three brands that it aims to operate as a separate business unit, sources said.
