Shares in Barclays have reached the highest point in almost a year after the bank reported a 67% profit increase for its investment bank in the third quarter and a 13% increase in trading revenue, compared with a 6.4% average among US peers. However, CEO Jes Staley says factors including low interest rates and Brexit will challenge profitability next year.
