Cornell University has been awarded a $2.3 million grant extension from the NIH to continue studying Paramyxoviridae viruses, Nipah, which has a mortality rate of up to 90%. Principal investigator Hector Aguilar-Carreno is working to better understand how the virus is transmitted and the mechanics of infection.
