Allergy immunotherapy may benefit youths with asthma

Researchers examined 2005 to 2014 data involving 39,167 German patients with allergic asthma ages 14 and older and found that allergy immunotherapy exposure was associated with lower odds of asthma progression, especially among those ages 14 to 17. The findings in the journal Allergy also showed reduced asthma progression risk among young adults ages 18 to 49 who received allergy immunotherapy, but not those ages 50 and older.
