Naturally occurring superconducting materials have been detected within two meteorites that landed on Earth, according to findings published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. "Naturally occurring superconductive materials are unusual, but they are particularly significant because these materials could be superconducting in extraterrestrial environments," says study author James Wampler.
